AKS General Company
AKS General Contracting is a residential and commercial renovation firm carrying eight trades in house, from framing and roofing through drywall, electrical and final coat.
Because the crew is ours rather than a rotating list of subcontractors, one contract and one schedule cover the whole job, and one person stays accountable for it from the first estimate to the final walkthrough.

Design & Scope
We agree exactly what is being built, down to the finishes, so there is nothing left to interpret once the crew arrives.

Permits
We pull the permits and deal with the inspectors. Where drawings are required, we coordinate them and submit on your behalf.

Demolition & Prep
Containment goes up before anything comes down. Floors and finishes are protected, and debris is hauled off as we go.

Build
One crew on site, cleaned up at the end of every day. If something changes, you hear it from us before it costs you.

Walkthrough & Handover
We walk the finished work with you, build the punch list together, and close it out. Final payment comes after you sign off.

Do you charge for an estimate?
No. We walk the job, measure it, and hand you a written scope with a price against it. There is no charge and no obligation to go ahead.
Do you take on small jobs?
Yes. A lot of our work is a single repair — a fence, a railing, a hood fan, a screen. If it is small, say so when you call and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right people for it.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes, and we are happy to show it. Ask and we will send our insurance certificate and licence details before any work starts — you should be asking every contractor who quotes you for the same thing.
Which trades do you cover?
Eight, and all of them in house: framing, roofing, flooring, drywall, electrical, painting, demolition, and landscaping and excavation. One contract and one schedule cover the whole job.
Do you pull the permits?
Yes. We pull the permits and deal with the inspectors. Where drawings are required we coordinate them and submit on your behalf.
What areas do you cover?
Barrie, Innisfil and Lefroy, and most of the way around Barrie. If you are further out, ask anyway — for a job of any size it is usually still worth the drive.
Will you beat a quote I already have?
Yes, if it is in writing and from a licensed competitor, for the same scope of work. Send it over with your enquiry and we will tell you straight away whether we can.
